cATHAY PACIFIC

Over summer of 2018, I had the good fortune to spend one month in the city of Hong Kong working with McCann Worldgroup. I, and eight other fellow Mizzou students teamed up with Hong Kong Baptist University students and were given a crash course on the fast pace, deadline driven world of advertising.

McCann gave us the exact same brief they were given on Cathay Pacific, a long time client, on promotion of the airline's new class of economy seating. This project proved to be exceptionally difficult and required some serious strategic thinking on how to sell and make one proud of something that is not necessarily sought after.

We devised a risky, but provocative plan: Do away with economy all together. Cathay would unveil an innovative new concept: Venture Class.
